The golfing world is in mourning following the untimely passing of Makena White, girlfriend of PGA Tour professional Jake Knapp, at the age of 28. White and Knapp began their relationship in August 2023, sharing their love with the world after Knapp’s victory at the Mexico Open.
Knapp, who turned professional in 2016, has secured one career win and achieved four top-10 finishes in this calendar year. Despite these accomplishments, he narrowly missed qualification for Team USA in the Ryder Cup, which began recently.

Her love was a gift wrapped in joy and laughter.” In memory of Makena, donations are encouraged to the Bruyère Brain Health & Memory Clinic or the Griffin Bell Endowment Fund.
White and Knapp’s journey together included cherished moments, such as attending the Genesis Scottish Open at North Berwick, where Knapp finished tied for 22nd. Among her last public declarations of love on social media, Makena expressed immense pride and gratitude for being by Knapp’s side during his professional journey.
