The first trailer for the live-action adaptation of Snow White has been released. Disney unveiled the teaser for this remake of the iconic 1937 animated film during the D23 event in Anaheim, California, on August 9. The movie, featuring Rachel Zegler in the lead role and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, is set to hit theaters on March 21, 2025.
The trailer, lasting one minute and 17 seconds, begins with Zegler joyfully dancing and singing “Whistle While You Work” alongside the seven dwarfs. It also showcases Gadot as she ominously gazes into her magic mirror.
Zegler expressed her enthusiasm about portraying the beloved Disney princess, stating, “It’s been the honor of a lifetime. I think any young person, any little girl, if you get to put on a Disney princess dress and be her for a day let alone six months… it’s just been the most amazing experience and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
Gadot shared her excitement as well, saying, “It was a lot of fun to get to do something that is completely different than anything I’ve ever done before. She’s delicious, she’s evil, she’s magical. We got to sing all these different songs. It was incredible.”
The film is directed by Marc Webb, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man series, and features songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the composers behind The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.
Originally scheduled for a March release this year, the film’s debut was postponed by Disney due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
