The Minnesota Lynx have made a strategic move by acquiring guard DiJonai Carrington from the Dallas Wings, who has been recognized as last year’s Most Improved Player in the WNBA. This acquisition comes as the Lynx solidify their position at the top of the league this season.
In return, the Wings will receive forward Diamond Miller, guard Karlie Samuelson, and a second-round draft pick from the Lynx in 2027. Carrington has shown impressive performance this season, averaging 10.4 points along with a career-high 5.1 rebounds per game after her mid-season trade from the Connecticut Sun to Dallas. While with the Sun, she earned a spot on the all-defensive first team in 2024.
Miller, who had been part of the Lynx for over two seasons, averaged 7.1 points per game, and Samuelson, who came to Minnesota earlier this year, contributed 3.3 points per contest. Additionally, the Wings waived Teaira McCowan, who had been on a protected veteran contract and was averaging 5.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
