Lupita Jones celebrated her departure with a farewell party in Mexico City prior to entering the sixth edition of “La Casa de los Famosos.” The gathering included friends, family, colleagues, beauty queens, and members of the MxU Fans Official team.
Jones shared insights into the reality show’s isolation process, stating, “On Saturday, we’re going to be encapsulated, staying in a hotel for a few days before being taken to the house on February 17, where contact with the outside world will cease.” So far, only seven contestants have been confirmed for the new season.
Expressing excitement about her future housemates, Jones particularly looked forward to teaming up with Laura Zapata in the kitchen. “I would love to team up with her in the kitchen. We’ll have a MasterChef here, a Top Chef, and I think I can learn a lot from Laura since I also enjoy cooking,” she commented.
As the isolation looms closer, Jones admitted to feeling nostalgic, mentioning she would miss her daily five-minute chats with her mother. “I wonder: ‘How long will I last without my own bed, my own pillow, using my bathroom, and having my loved ones and pets close?’ This night is important for gathering with friends and feeling that support as I embark on this unknown journey,” she reflected.
Staying true to her authentic self, Jones stated that her strategy in the house would focus on being genuine, opting not to present a fabricated persona. She plans to enter the show in comfortable attire and showcase elegance during the Sunday elimination galas.
As the first confirmed contestant for the new season, Jones took the opportunity to cherish moments with those who have significantly impacted her life and career. The show is set to premiere on February 17 on Telemundo.
Should she win the show’s grand prize of $200,000, Jones intends to donate part of it to two foundations as part of her commitment to animal welfare. To prepare for her time on the show, she will be styled by Tony Berber and will wear designs by Benito Santos for the elimination events.
During her farewell party, guests observed signs displaying the hashtag #TeamReinaMadre, designed for social media posts, and received buttons featuring a golden crown. Ximena Navarrete, Miss Universe 2010, sent a video message of encouragement to Jones, expressing her confidence in Jones’ ability to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.
Emotional yet resolute, the woman affectionately dubbed “Reina Madre” urged her loved ones to stay away from drama and to support her in the event of nominations. This blend of sentiment and determination highlights Jones’ commitment to both her personal journey and her values.
