Luke Combs recently made a playful comment about Post Malone on social media, poking fun at the rapper-turned-country artist for wearing counterfeit merchandise featuring Combs’ likeness during one of his performances.
The shirt, which prominently showed Combs’ photo, his name, and the title of his popular song “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” was labeled as a “bootleg” by Combs himself.
In a lighthearted Instagram Story, Combs wrote, “Shirt is gas. Even though it’s bootleg haha.” While this was a mild tease aimed at Post Malone, Combs emphasized that he was merely joking with the “I Had Some Help” singer.
This fun exchange also recalls Combs’ own past issues with counterfeit goods. Last year, his legal team filed a $250,000 lawsuit against a fan selling unauthorized Luke Combs tumblers, which received backlash for targeting smaller sellers.
Combs later expressed regret about the legal action, sharing his hope to foster support rather than penalization for the home-run seller caught in the merchandise controversy.
The relationship between Combs and Malone highlights a camaraderie. Combs is among the numerous country artists with whom Malone has formed a connection following the release of his debut country album, “F-1 Trillion.”
Released in August, the album includes collaborations with notable country artists like Lainey Wilson, Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, and, of course, Luke Combs himself. The two musicians worked together on tracks such as “Guy For That” and “Missin’ You Like This,” both of which have already seen significant success within just three weeks of release.
