Luis Enrique Hints PSG May Rest Stars Ahead of Bayern Clash

After an intense season that included every possible match, culminating in the Club World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has had little time to rest. Following their final match against Chelsea and the upcoming European Supercup against Tottenham, the players had only a brief month to recuperate, which has taken a toll on their bodies.

During a press conference on Friday, ahead of their match against OGC Nice, coach Luis Enrique indicated that he may grant rest to players who request it. “I aim to enhance each player’s individual performance. I’m open to allowing them to rest, regardless of who it is. If a player needs a little break, it’s not an issue,” he stated.

On the topic of injuries, Enrique sought to reassure fans and observers about player health. “We are concerned about the players’ wellbeing, but that’s part of football. Right now, the only injury issue is with Désiré Doué,” he noted. He also highlighted positive news regarding the squad, confirming that there are recovering players and negating any concerns over Ousmane Dembélé, who is not expected to face any problems according to his coach.

As PSG prepares for a crucial clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in just three days, the team is likely to have a full squad available, barring Doué, who is sidelined until the end of 2026.

The resilience of PSG is set to be tested as they face Nice, with expectations to once again showcase their young talent on the pitch.
