“Choosing to stay here came from my trust in God and my relationship with Him, which grew during times when I wasn’t playing,” Nussmeier expressed. “I believe God brought me here for a reason, and leaving didn’t feel right. I love Louisiana and the university; it feels like home. I knew I had to trust in God’s timing and plan while remaining ready to play.”

“I’ve been fortunate to be around the game a lot, starting with my father (Doug Nussmeier), who was a quarterback,” he commented. “I understand the work it takes to succeed in this role. I have great support around me; Coach (Joe) Sloan pushes me to ensure I do things right.”
Becoming LSU’s starting quarterback involves high expectations, but Nussmeier embraces the challenge, showing that consistency is essential for sustained success.

“With a different receiving corps this season, with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. moving to the NFL, I understand the responsibility on my shoulders, but I am prepared to rise to the occasion,” Lacy stated. “I see myself as a team leader now. I want to inspire my teammates, and if I can elevate those around me, our team can achieve great things.”

Since his freshman year, Taylor has been integral to LSU’s offense. Historically, LSU has had capable tight end play, but Taylor has elevated that tradition as a top receiving option. He currently leads LSU’s career record book for tight ends with over 100 receptions and 1,000 receiving yards.

“The most significant factor has been taking experience from my coaches and everyone who has been here, learning something new each day while looking for ways to grow,” Taylor explained.
