LSU has been designated as the No. 6 national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament, set to begin this Friday. The Tigers will kick off the Baton Rouge Regional at 2 p.m. CT, facing off against Little Rock at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
This year’s No. 6 seed represents LSU’s second Top 8 appearance in three seasons; they were the No. 5 national seed in 2023, the year they secured their seventh College World Series title. Overall, LSU has achieved Top 8 national seed status for the 12th time since the NCAA adopted its 64-team tournament format in 1999.
With an impressive record of 43-14, LSU stands as the No. 1 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional, while Little Rock, who enters as the No. 4 seed after clinching the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship, holds a 24-32 record. The highly anticipated LSU-Little Rock matchup will be available for viewing on the SEC Network and for listening on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
In addition to the LSU game, No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist will take on No. 3 seed Rhode Island at 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, with that game being streamed on ESPN+. The regional tournament will unfold throughout the weekend, with the ultimate victor advancing to the NCAA Super Regional the following weekend against the winner of the Clemson (S.C.) Regional.
