Love, Secrets, and Drama: What’s Next for Emily in Paris Season 4?

Emily in Paris Season 4 has kicked off with five new episodes, featuring a getaway to Rome for the lead character, Emily.

The first part of the season delves into the aftermath of the dramatic conclusion to Season 3, as the ensemble cast navigates shifting relationships. The season premiered on Thursday, August 15, following a blush pink carpet event at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles.

Here’s a brief recap of the key plot points from the first five episodes of Season 4.

Following the chaotic events of the wedding, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) grapple with their changing dynamics. Camille’s (Camille Razat) revelation at her engagement party caused turmoil, as she pointed out the lingering feelings between Emily and Gabriel, ultimately preventing her from marrying him.

Even after the wedding chaos, Gabriel informs Emily that Camille is expecting his child. Although Gabriel intends to be involved in the child’s life, their relationship remains complicated, especially since Emily knows that Camille has fallen in love with a woman, Sofia Sideris (Melia Kreiling).

Emily also struggles to mend her relationship with Alfie, who, needing distance after the wedding debacle, is still her partner in a hot air balloon advertisement. The Ami brand director pressures them to attend the French Open to promote the ad, and while it seems like they might reconcile, Alfie decides he cannot move past the hurt from their recent experiences.

In another storyline, Mindy (Ashley Park) learns from Benoit (Kevin Dias) that his song “Mon Soleil,” which he wrote for her, was chosen for Eurovision. They must figure out their budget for the competition as they prepare.

Mindy faces pressures from her new boyfriend Nicolas de Leon’s father, who criticizes her fashion choices, prompting a confrontation where she asserts her independence by selling her couture to fund their Eurovision aspirations.

Meanwhile, Camille disappears without a word, prompting concern from her parents. Initially thought to be in Greece with Sofia, Emily later finds Camille in Giverny, where tensions rise as they confront each other about Camille’s previous comments.

Julien (Samuel Arnold) decides to accept an offer from JVMA, frustrated with Emily’s interference in his professional life. He makes this decision during a tennis match, while Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) navigates a complicated relationship with Louis de Léon, utilizing a journalist’s inquiries to share her perspective.

During the Masquerade Ball, Emily and Gabriel finally share a moment together, yet Alfie, hoping for a second chance, also attends. Their tangled feelings come to a head when Alfie witnesses Emily leaving with Gabriel after a romantic carriage ride.

As the fallout continues, Camille discovers at a doctor’s appointment that she is not pregnant, leaving her relationships with both Gabriel and Emily strained. Gabriel’s hopes for a Michelin star diminish when it’s revealed that Luc’s girlfriend, Marianne, has a questionable background, undermining his chances for culinary recognition.

This season promises further complications, setting the stage for what’s to come in the remaining episodes of Season 4.
