North Jersey’s own Grant Ellis is set to begin his romantic journey as the lead on the 29th season of ABC’s “The Bachelor.” The season premieres on Monday, January 27, at 8 p.m. ET, and will also be available for streaming on Hulu.
At 30 years old, Ellis was named the upcoming season’s bachelor after an emotional departure from the last installment of “The Bachelorette,” where he was introduced to audiences through fellow New Jersey native Jenn Tran. Ellis stood out during the season, particularly during his one-on-one date with Tran, but was ultimately sent home, paving the way for his new role.
Describing himself in promotional materials, Ellis refers to his roots as a New Jersey native, characterizing himself as a mama’s boy, day trader, athlete, and a lighthearted individual. “I’m looking for love. I want a wife. I’m searching for that happiness,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of taking risks for love.
Originally from Newark, Ellis attended Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City before playing college basketball at Iona University. His basketball journey continued internationally before he transitioned into a career as a day trader. When not immersed in work, Ellis enjoys cheering for the Lakers, bowling, and participating in karaoke nights.
Throughout the season, Ellis is eager to explore romance and develop real connections. He is looking for a partner who values loyalty, humor, and a genuine enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. He expresses a desire for a relationship built on kindness and understanding, with hopes of finding someone adventurous and affectionate.
“Let the journey begin,” Ellis said, encouraging fans to join him for what promises to be an exciting and heartfelt experience.
In this season, 25 women will compete for Ellis’s affection, including boxing trainer Alli Jo, 30, from Manalapan, New Jersey.
As Ellis embarks on this new chapter, fans of “The Bachelor” can anticipate a season full of excitement, romance, and meaningful connections as he searches for true love.
