The match showcased standout performances from Louisville’s Charitie Luper, Sofia Maldonado Diaz, and Anna DeBeer, each contributing 14 kills. DeBeer, unfortunately, left the match in the fourth set due to injury. However, freshman Payton Petersen stepped up admirably in her absence, adding two kills and four digs to uphold the team’s momentum.
Pitt, while defeated, saw an impressive showing from Olivia Babcock, who registered a remarkable 33 kills, and Torrey Stafford, who completed 18 kills.
With this win, Louisville (30-5) is set to compete for the championship title against either Nebraska or Penn State on Sunday at 3 p.m.
