Former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who recently graced the cover of the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, revealed that her photoshoot was more challenging than it appeared. In a candid Instagram vlog posted on May 19, she disclosed that she was dealing with an avulsion fracture in her kneecap, an injury she sustained on March 6. Despite the pain, she expressed that it was worth it to be featured alongside fellow cover models actress Salma Hayek Pinault, model Lauren Chan, and gymnast Jordan Chiles.
During the stunning beach shoot in Bermuda, Dunne wore an asymmetrical zebra-print bikini and completed a series of poses, including one for the coveted cover shot where she kneeled in the sand. Although the injury has temporarily sidelined her from competitive gymnastics at LSU, she has been focused on her recovery.
At the launch party for the SI Swimsuit issue on May 15, Dunne shared her excitement about the future. Having officially retired from gymnastics, she is looking forward to embracing new opportunities, traveling, and potentially exploring acting roles. “I’ve always said ‘no’ to opportunities way more than I’ve said ‘yes,’ so I’m eager to say yes to more things,” she stated.
This marks Dunne’s third feature in the SI Swimsuit issue since her debut in 2023, showcasing her impressive transition from gymnastics to modeling and other avenues in entertainment. Fans and followers are left wondering what exciting projects she may take on next, as she teased the possibility of future performances on screen.
Dunne’s resilience through her injury and her optimistic outlook on her career post-gymnastics is truly inspiring, showcasing her determination to turn challenges into exciting new ventures.
