Linda Ronstadt Slams Trump: “I’m Worried About the Rapist in the White House”

Renowned Mexican American singer Linda Ronstadt has strongly criticized Donald Trump for his “hatred” as the Republican presidential candidate plans to hold a rally in a Tucson, Arizona hall that bears her name.

In a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday evening, the 78-year-old multiple Grammy winner expressed her dismay about the rally, stating, “Donald Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in a rented hall in my hometown, Tucson. I would prefer to ignore that sad fact. But since the building has my name on it, I need to say something.”

Ronstadt lamented Trump’s decision to bring what she described as his “hate show” to Tucson, a city richly rooted in Mexican-American culture and known for its spirit of joy and tolerance. She criticized Trump’s toxic politics, particularly his attitudes toward women, immigrants, and people of color, as well as his dishonesty and ignorance.

She also denounced Trump’s border policies, highlighting the cruel family separation policy that resulted in thousands of children and infants being orphaned and their parents suffering.

In her statement, Ronstadt referred to Trump as a rapist, saying, “While Trump first ran for president warning about rapists coming in from Mexico, I’m worried about keeping the rapist out of the White House.”

This statement comes in the context of allegations made by writer E. Jean Carroll, who claimed that Trump raped her in a department store in the 1990s and subsequently defamed her when he denied it. A jury found Trump liable for the sexual assault last year.

In addition to her criticism of Trump, Ronstadt also took aim at JD Vance, who has made derogatory remarks about people without children, labeling them as “childish cat ladies” and “psychotic” and “deranged.”

“I raised two adopted children in Tucson as a single mom. They are both grown and living in their own houses. I live with a cat,” Ronstadt remarked, adding, “Am I half a childless cat lady because I’m unmarried and didn’t give birth to my kids? Call me what you want, but this cat lady will be voting proudly in November for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

Trump is scheduled to make his speech at 2 PM in Tucson, where he will address topics such as the rising cost of housing, according to AZ Family.
