Lil Jon Ignites Energy at DNC with Epic Roll Call for Kamala Harris!

Lil Jon brought excitement to the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night as he led an enthusiastic roll call for Georgia at Chicago’s United Center.

The Atlanta rapper engaged the crowd by performing his popular song “Turn Down for What” while introducing the Georgia delegation. This event was part of a ceremonial roll call in which states voiced their support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the presidential nominee and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Although Harris had already been confirmed as the Democratic nominee in an earlier virtual vote, the roll call on August 20 was a festive occasion enhanced by DJs and celebrity appearances.

Representing Georgia, Lil Jon energized the audience with his signature enthusiasm, exclaiming, “Yeaaaaahhhhhhh!” and declaring the intent to officially nominate Kamala Harris for president. His performance included chants related to Harris’ campaign messages, showcasing a unique blend of music and political advocacy.

Following Lil Jon, Georgia Rep. Nikema Williams, the chairwoman of the state’s Democratic Party, addressed the crowd, stating, “In the spirit of good trouble, Georgia casts 123 votes for the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris!” referencing the legacy of the late civil rights leader John Lewis.

Several other celebrities also participated in the roll call, including actor Sean Astin for Indiana, Wendell Pierce for Louisiana, Spike Lee for New York, and Eva Longoria for Texas, each adding their unique flair to the event.

The celebration continued with a DJ playing state-themed music as delegations were introduced, with Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” for New Jersey, Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” for Michigan, and the Dropkick Murphys’ “Shipping Up to Boston” for Massachusetts. Wisconsin’s delegation was introduced with House of Pain’s “Jump Around,” a staple at University of Wisconsin football games.
