LICI Fiji Marks 69th Anniversary With Blood Drives, Community Support and Digital Upgrades

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) Fiji announced its commitment to social responsibility as it celebrates the 69th anniversary of its parent company based in India. Over the next two weeks, LICI Fiji will engage in various charitable activities, including contributions to local health centers and community institutions.

On September 1, the company kicked off its celebration with a blood donation drive at its office in Suva, in collaboration with the CWM Hospital and the Ministry of Health. This initiative saw participation from employees, including the general manager, Pradeep Shenoy. During the drive, it was reported that the number of eligible blood donors has decreased since the COVID-19 pandemic, with many potential donors facing health challenges that prevent them from giving blood. Shenoy emphasized the importance of encouraging blood donations as a noble act.

The following day, Shenoy and team members visited the Father Law Home in Lami, where they donated essential items such as adult diapers, groceries, and bed sheets. The home has been providing care for individuals without a place to live since 1957. Sister Rosa, who oversees the home, expressed her gratitude for LICI’s contributions, highlighting the vital importance of such donations for the residents who often require full-time care.

LICI Fiji first initiated operations in Fiji on October 5, 1956, and currently manages 62.5% of the national life insurance policies. The company’s ongoing support for the community reflects a deep commitment to social welfare, as illustrated by its recent charitable activities during its anniversary celebrations.

This year, LICI Fiji has made notable improvements to its services, including enhancements to its mobile app for easier access to policies and the digitization of 70,000 physical files, streamlining customer interactions. Furthermore, LICI has invested significantly in Fiji’s economy, including a recent commitment of $61 million in government bonds.

As LICI continues to positively impact communities in Fiji, the company’s celebration of its anniversary not only showcases its commercial achievements but also highlights its enduring commitment to uplift the lives of individuals in the regions it serves.
