Lewis Hamilton delighted fans in Melbourne by introducing them to his newly adopted cows during the opening of the F1 2026 campaign. The surprise revelation came after a picture of Hamilton with one of the cows appeared on the big screen. The cows, named Max and Ombre, are helping to ease the pain of losing his beloved bulldog, Roscoe, who passed away in September 2025.

Hamilton humorously noted that he did not choose the name Max for one of his new companions, which could easily remind fans of his fierce on-track rival, Max Verstappen. As the crowd reacted with enthusiasm, Hamilton clarified, “I didn’t name him. I inherited him, by the way. His name is Max. I swear on my life.”

He went on to share more about his new farm additions, saying, “I have like a farm, and I inherited, I adopted him basically. And his name is Max. And I have another one called Ombre. They’re the softest. They’re like the new Roscoe for me.”

This light-hearted moment provided a contrast to the challenges Hamilton faced during the 2025 season, where he struggled to get on the podium for the first time in his career while driving for Ferrari. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Hamilton expressed optimism, stating that fans would see a revitalized version of himself, remarking, “you won’t see that person again.”

As he prepares to pilot his Ferrari SF-26, Hamilton’s introduction of his cows not only highlights his love for animals but also marks a fresh start for the racing icon, bringing a sense of hope and positivity as he aims for a record eighth World Championship.
