Leo Margets Shines in World Series of Poker: A Rising Star Breaks Barriers!

Spain’s Leo Margets is making headlines as she proves her mettle once again in the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event. Now among the final 18 players, Margets has increased her chip stack significantly to 35 million following a pivotal hand against Diego Ponce that ultimately eliminated him in 19th place.

In a thrilling preflop matchup, Margets opened the pot with a minimum raise of 1.6 million chips holding a pair of black queens. Ponce, with king-jack, went all-in for 9.6 million chips from the big blind, prompting Margets to make the call. As the flop revealed no assistance for Ponce, it became evident that his tournament journey was coming to an end, leaving him with $360,000 in prize money while Margets celebrated her growing chip count.

Margets has been a formidable competitor, having consistently added to her stack throughout the event. As the tournament heads toward its final two tables, she stands poised against tough competition from chip leaders Braxton Dunaway (80.3 million), Adam Hendrix (69 million), and Michael Mizrachi (43.7 million). Overnight chip leader Kenny Hallaert is now in 5th place with 40.3 million.

Margets’ strong performance not only highlights her skill but also marks her continued presence in a predominantly male-dominated field, inspiring many aspiring female poker players. Her determination and strategic gameplay suggest that she has a strong chance of advancing further in the tournament.
