In a significant development concerning the late actress Kim Sae Ron, her former manager has taken legal action against popular YouTuber Kwon Young Chan, filing a defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit was officially submitted on June 19 at the Seocho Police Station, with the manager alleging that Kwon has spread false information about him under the Information and Communications Network Act.
Kwon Young Chan has made serious accusations against the manager, claiming he was involved with Kim Soo Hyun’s agency and alleging both grooming and financial misconduct. He claimed the manager embezzled funds by referencing a hospital bill from November last year when Kim Sae Ron sustained a wrist injury. According to Kwon, two payments were made: one for 5.4 million KRW and another for 4.98 million KRW, suggesting financial irregularities. Furthermore, Kwon alleged that the manager had unauthorised access to Kim Sae Ron’s private medical records, highlighting an outpatient record made in her name just a month after her passing.
To bolster these claims, Kwon shared what he described as text messages that reflected a close relationship between Kim Sae Ron and her manager, depicting the manager as a confidant during times of family strain. These messages reportedly included exchanges about medical appointments and personal advice offered by the manager.
In response, the former manager has categorically denied all allegations made by Kwon. He characterized the claims as “groundless” and “baseless,” challenging the YouTuber’s narrative by insisting that any public discussion should be rooted in fact. He denied the grooming accusations, emphasizing that the assertions lack credibility.
