The Golden State Warriors sought revenge against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a commanding 111-85 victory, but it was a surprising exchange involving veteran Joe Ingles that caught significant attention. In a heated competition, Ingles made headlines for his colorful remarks directed at Warriors rookie Quinten Post, which was captured through leaked audio.

The tensions flared in the fourth quarter after a strong third-quarter surge by the Warriors. With less than two minutes remaining and the game well in hand, Ingles became entangled with Post during a crucial play. As players jostled for position, Ingles was overheard threatening, “I’ll slap the s— outta you,” to Post, making it a memorable moment in an otherwise one-sided game.

Interestingly, the Timberwolves’ young big man, Joan Beringer, intervened with his impressive wingspan, allowing officials and teammates to separate the players. Both Ingles and Post received technical fouls as a result of the scuffle, although neither was ejected from the game.

In the aftermath, as the dust settled, Ingles engaged in a lighter exchange with Pat Spencer, who attempted to smooth over the situation. Their back-and-forth included the infamous slap remark once again, but Post seemed unfazed, pretending not to hear whatever Ingles had said.

While the fight grabbed headlines, the spotlight ultimately belonged to Stephen Curry, who led the Warriors with 26 points and made a mark on history by moving into 19th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, surpassing legends John Havlicek and Paul Pierce. Moses Moody added 19 points, while both Brandin Podziemski and De’Anthony Melton contributed 12 points each. As a team, the Warriors capitalized on their defensive efforts by forcing 26 turnovers, converting them into 25 points, marking their first win since the injury sidelining star Jimmy Butler.

Although many anticipated a showdown between Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert, and Julius Randle, it was Ingles and Post’s unexpected altercation that defined the game. The Warriors’ victory not only provided them with a morale boost but also showcased their ability to withstand challenges even without key players, suggesting promising prospects as they continue to adjust their roster.
