In the upcoming Act Two update for League of Legends, players will experience a refreshed ARAM mode featuring a rotation of three maps. While Howling Abyss remains a staple, it will be joined by the returning Butcher’s Bridge and a new Spirit Blossom-themed map known as Koeshin’s Crossing. Butcher’s Bridge will introduce cannons in place of Hexgates and incorporate Power Flowers from Arena, offering cooldown reduction and shielding, though not healing. On the other hand, Koeshin’s Crossing will swap Hexgates for Portals, enhancing the game’s strategic elements.
Additionally, a significant change will be introduced with Champion cards. This new system eliminates traditional ARAM rerolls, providing players with at least two Champion options at the start of each ARAM match. Players can select a Champion while their unchosen options become available for others, allowing for up to three Champion cards at the beginning.
A new champion, Yunara, is also set to debut in the game. Tied to Ionia and the Wydbloom, Yunara will be an auto-attack-centric ADC. Players can unlock her through missions or by purchasing her with Blue Essence, with a detailed reveal of her abilities expected in two weeks from content creators who have tested her.
In addition to the new Champion, Riot is releasing a beat’em up Metagame featuring Yunara and Xin Zhao. This 2.5D side-scrolling adventure will unveil more of the season’s narrative without requiring League matches, while offering rewards through interactions with spirits.
Riot is also taking measures to address player behavior with the implementation of an updated Inting and Griefing detection system, achieving a remarkable 99.95% accuracy rate. Future patches will enhance detection for toxic conduct, and the development team is considering automatic game termination for severe infractions. The Honor system is being revamped as well to allow players to earn Hextech chests for displaying honorable behavior.
As for competitive play, MSI is scheduled to commence on June 27th in Vancouver. Fans can enjoy the new Pick’ems feature and look forward to sales on skins used by the winning team.
Lastly, the community can anticipate a new skin for Viktor titled ‘Thicctor,’ set for release later this year, the design of which draws inspiration from classic Viktor aesthetics.
Overall, these updates promise to enrich the League of Legends experience, providing fresh content and fostering a more enjoyable gaming environment. Players can look forward to exploring new strategies, enjoying a variety of gameplay experiences, and engaging with updates tailored to community feedback.
