Law student Lebaiwasa Wakawaka was crowned the 2025 Vodafone Miss Sugar during a lively ceremony held at Lautoka’s Churchill Park carnival grounds on Saturday. The event, organized by Unique Sounds, Entertainment, and Events, showcased a week of hard work and dedication from Ms. Wakawaka and her supporters, culminating in this celebratory evening.
Expressing her astonishment at winning, Ms. Wakawaka shared, “I am still overwhelmed by all of this because I never honestly thought I would win.” She conveyed deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by her family and friends, stating, “Remembering all of the work my family, friends, and sponsor put into this, I feel very grateful that all of that hard work and sacrifice resulted in this crown.”
Ms. Wakawaka expressed her eagerness to tackle significant issues, stating, “I thank God for giving me this opportunity and for allowing me to use this platform.” She cherished the bonds formed with fellow contestants, describing the experience as a lasting sisterhood.
Hailing from Nasau, Nakorotubu, Ra, with maternal roots in Naivaka, Navakasiga in Bua, Ms. Wakawaka credited her family’s unwavering support, particularly her mother, Vinaina. “She’s been my biggest supporter, and without her, I don’t think I would have reached this far,” she remarked, emphasizing her heartfelt appreciation for her family’s faith in her journey.
The evening also acknowledged other exceptional participants, with Akisi Temo from Ozone Electrical earning the titles of First Runner Up and Miss Personality, while Michelle Lambert from Lei Entertainers was named Second Runner Up. Furthermore, Etonia Saukuru secured the title of the 2025 Mr. Sugar King.
