A woman and three men have been charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping case involving a 20-year-old woman in Lautoka. The incident reportedly occurred on the morning of February 25, 2026, following a confrontation that took place at the victim’s home in Saweni.

According to police reports, the primary accused, a 25-year-old woman from Saweni, is accused of forcibly taking the victim into her vehicle. During the altercation, three accomplices allegedly assaulted a relative of the victim who tried to assist her. In a courageous attempt to escape, the victim jumped from the moving vehicle, resulting in injuries.

The main accused faces several serious charges, including one count of kidnapping, one count of damaging property, and one count of an act intended to cause grievous harm. Her three accomplices, aged 44, 28, and 24, are also facing charges related to kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.

All four individuals are scheduled to appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court on March 2, 2026. This case underscores the alarming prevalence of violence in communities and the legal measures being taken to confront such matters.
