Lautoka FC Reunites with Ravinesh Kumar Ahead of IDC 2025

Lautoka FC is gearing up for the FMF Inter-District Championship 2025 with a significant boost from the return of their experienced coach, Ravinesh Kumar. As the former Fiji FA Technical Director and coach of the Fiji Under 20 team, Kumar brings invaluable expertise to the club, having previously guided Lautoka in high-stakes competitions. His A-License qualification places him as a notable mentor, and his leadership is set to bolster Lautoka’s bid for glory in the upcoming tournament.

In addition to Kumar’s return, Lautoka will benefit from the inclusion of overseas-based players, adding strength and international experience across key positions. The club’s strategy aims to enhance their competitiveness in what promises to be a challenging Group A, with matches starting against Suva on Tuesday at 6 PM, followed by fixtures against defending champions Labasa, and western rivals Nadi.

With Lautoka’s recent successful track record, including victories in the Fiji FACT and the Battle of the Giants, expectations are high. The club’s management is keen to reinforce their lineup, as indicated by club president Shalendra Prasad, who mentioned efforts to recruit former Lautoka goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara for the tournament, further showcasing the ambition to strengthen their squad.

Fans are eagerly anticipating how the blend of tactical expertise from Kumar and the return of experienced players will play a crucial role in their push for success. The tournament, starting on Tuesday at Govind Park in Ba, is set to be one of the highlights of the football calendar, with live commentary available on Radio Fiji Two.

As the host team, Lautoka stands under the spotlight, and the combination of their seasoned coaching and returning talent may prove pivotal in their quest for IDC triumph, making for an exciting championship ahead.
