The $3 million renovation of the Lautoka Bus Station is nearing completion, with officials confident that the project will wrap up this month. This crucial infrastructure upgrade aims to enhance services for the thousands of commuters who depend on the station each day.

Taitusi Rasoki, chairperson of the Lautoka Board of Special Administrators, has reported steady progress in construction, asserting that the project will be completed on schedule without any delays or the need for additional funding. “The project will be completed before the end of January, still within the agreed timeline,” Rasoki stated.

Addressing concerns about the budget, Rasoki reassured that there have been no significant issues that would require extra financial support. “There is no pushback as you anticipate, so there’s no need for additional funding,” he explained, reiterating that the construction process is on track with the planned handover date.

The successful finalization of this upgrade is expected to significantly strengthen transportation services in Lautoka, highlighting the city’s dedication to improving infrastructure for the benefit of both residents and commuters. The project not only promises to enhance public transport efficiency but also signifies a positive step forward in urban development initiatives.
