The Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources, in collaboration with Fiji Law Reform, is set to host the final public consultation on the review of the State Lands Act of 1945. This important event will take place next Monday at the Suva Civic Centre Lower Auditorium from 10 am to 12 pm.

This consultation represents a significant opportunity for public engagement, as it is the last chance for citizens to provide input on the proposed review. The goal of the review is to modernize and enhance the management and administration of state lands in Fiji, ensuring that it is more effective in addressing the needs of the community.

The Ministry is actively encouraging participation from both the public and stakeholders, inviting them to share their insights and recommendations. Individuals and organizations can also submit written contributions by addressing them to the Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources. These submissions can be sent via email, hand-delivered to the Ministry’s headquarters in Nasese, or mailed, with all written submissions due by 4 pm on the following Wednesday.

This review process is designed to foster a more transparent, equitable, and sustainable land management system for all Fijians, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to improving governance in land administration. The public’s involvement is crucial in shaping a framework that meets the diverse needs of the nation, paving the way for a more responsible and inclusive approach to land management.
