Residents and visitors of San Diego are encouraged to soak up the sun while they can, as a shift in weather patterns is expected following this weekend. According to the National Weather Service, Sunday is predicted to be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures reaching the high 70s along the coast and the low to mid 90s inland.

As the week progresses, a cooling trend will set in, beginning Monday. This change is attributed to an increase in onshore flow that is expected to bring breezy west winds to various areas, particularly on desert mountain slopes, below passes, and into desert regions during the afternoons and evenings. Forecasters anticipate the strongest gusts to occur on Monday.

Marine conditions are also expected to be affected, with windy conditions being the primary hazardous issue projected through at least Thursday. In the wake of this weather change, highs are expected to drop to the low 70s, with evening lows in the low 60s.

This shift serves as a reminder that San Diego’s summer warmth is fleeting, encouraging residents to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery while the sun is still shining brightly. The anticipated breezes will also provide a refreshing transition into a more temperate climate.
