The family of Michael Heslin, an actor known for his roles in “Lioness” and “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” has taken legal action against the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, alleging negligence and a failure to respond when Heslin collapsed at a restaurant within the resort. The lawsuit claims that staff at the upscale Mexican eatery, Javier’s, failed to administer CPR or initiate emergency responses when Heslin showed signs of medical distress on June 25, 2024. Malpractice is alleged, highlighting how an employee reportedly prevented a woman from administering CPR and failed to retrieve an automated external defibrillator (AED).
The complaint, lodged by Heslin’s estate on September 18, further alleges that when friends attempted to document the incident, staff insisted the recordings be deleted, pointing to what the family claims was a systematic failure by the resort’s employees as well as its management, including both Aria and MGM Resorts International. Orlando De Castroverde, representing the estate, labeled Michael’s death a preventable tragedy. The lawsuit details five counts against MGM Resorts International, which operates the Aria Resort & Casino, including wrongful death and gross negligence, seeking financial damages for the various losses suffered by the family.
In response, MGM Resorts International asserted that the claims were inconsistent with their understanding of the facts, committing to address them through the appropriate legal channels.
Michael Heslin, fondly remembered not only for his professional achievements in films such as “The Influencers” and “Boy*Friend,” was mourned deeply by family and friends.
