Actor Mike Heslin’s death has prompted his husband, Nicolas James Wilson, to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Aligned with allegations of negligence, this legal action follows Heslin’s unexpected passing due to a cardiac event at the casino’s restaurant, Javier’s, in July 2024.
According to the lawsuit, while Heslin was dining, he collapsed in what was a clear medical emergency. Despite cries for help from his friends, employees at the scene allegedly did not take timely action that could have been lifesaving. Court documents claim that the staff failed to perform CPR and blockaded a bystander attempting to administer aid. Furthermore, accusations include the casino’s neglect in maintaining emergency response protocols and equipment, such as an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Wilson, known as Scotty Dynamo on social media, is claiming damages for wrongful death and negligence, citing the failure of ARIA to address the emergency appropriately. The grieving husband, illustrating his commitment to justice, seeks $30,000 in damages, highlighting the inadequacy of the institutionally responsible actions during the incident.
Heslin, remembered for his roles in Special Ops: Lioness and other productions, was noted as healthy at the time of his death. His unexpected demise has sparked a wave of sympathy and support, with many hoping for improved emergency responses in public venues. The Independent has reached out to ARIA for their response to the allegations.
