Following a solid 14-point victory over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers have enjoyed a significant break, gaining much-needed practice time usually scarce in the busy NBA season.
The Lakers are now operating at full health, with LeBron James and guard Gabe Vincent both returning to the lineup earlier this week. They are set to meet the Jazz again on Sunday in Salt Lake City before embarking on a four-game homestand.
As of now, L.A. has no injury concerns listed on their report for Sunday’s game, although center Deandre Ayton is dealing with an illness and did not participate in practice on Saturday. Nevertheless, he is expected to be in attendance for the matchup against the Jazz. Meanwhile, Bronny James and rookie forward Adou Thiero remain with the team’s G League affiliate, focusing on their development.
The Lakers, who currently lead West Group B with a 2-0 record and a notable plus-19 point differential, will next host their city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, followed by the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, both part of the Emirates NBA Cup group play. This impressive start not only highlights their potential in the ongoing season but also sets them up well before they embark on a six-game road trip, commencing on Thursday, December 4, against the Toronto Raptors. They will return to the Staples Center on Christmas Day to face off against Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.
With the players returning to form and a string of games lined up, it looks promising for the Lakers as they aim to build on their strong start in the season.
