In Mexico City, Ximena Pichel appeared before the control judge of the Superior Court of Justice, accompanied by her lawyers, following allegations that she insulted and assaulted a traffic police officer from the Secretary of Citizen Security. This incident is classified as a case of discrimination.

According to the Penal Code, this accusation is not considered a serious crime, which means the Argentine national could potentially be allowed to continue her legal proceedings in freedom. However, the law stipulates a possible sentence of one to three years in prison along with a fine ranging from 5,000 to 22,000 pesos.

Pichel’s aggressive behavior occurred in the Condesa neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc mayoralty, where she confronted the officer who was attempting to place a wheel clamp on her vehicle due to improper parking and failure to pay the meter. Her expletive-filled and racist remarks directed at the officer led to her being dubbed “Lady Racista,” and a video capturing the incident circulated widely on social media.

This case has sparked discussions about discrimination and conduct towards law enforcement, reflecting broader social issues regarding respect and equality. It highlights the ongoing need for society to address and challenge prejudicial attitudes and behaviors. The exposure from this incident could lead to increased awareness and dialogue about these important issues in Mexico.
