Lady Gaga is officially joining the cast of Netflix’s hit series, Wednesday, for its anticipated second season. The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist will take on a role in the show, which is currently being filmed in Ireland. Specifics about her character have not yet been revealed, adding to the excitement surrounding her addition to the beloved series.

Interestingly, Gaga already has an indirect connection to Wednesday; a viral TikTok remix of her song “Bloody Mary” became a popular soundtrack for a dance scene featuring lead actress Jenna Ortega from the show’s first season, which premiered in 2022.

In season two, Gaga will be joined by an array of new cast members, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor as series regulars. Additionally, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo are set to appear in guest roles.

Gaga’s involvement comes on the heels of her performance in Joker: Folie a Deux, further showcasing her versatility and depth as an artist. Her notable filmography includes A Star Is Born, which earned her an Oscar for Best Original Song and a nomination for Best Actress, as well as House of Gucci and multiple seasons of FX’s American Horror Story.

In September, Netflix teased viewers with a behind-the-scenes video from the production of season two, which ended with Ortega humorously warning fans that revealing more would result in “your eyes would bleed.” This season, along with Ortega, will see the return of cast members like Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, and others as Wednesday navigates life at Nevermore Academy.

Notably, the first season of Wednesday has made history as Netflix’s most popular English-language TV series, a testament to its widespread appeal. The show is helmed by creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, along with Tim Burton, who directed several episodes, highlighting a strong creative team behind the series.

This brings an optimistic outlook for the upcoming season, as fans can look forward to both familiar faces and new talents joining the beloved franchise. The combination of Lady Gaga’s star power and the show’s existing popularity promises to make season two even more remarkable.
