The Fiji Roads Authority has officially announced the temporary closure of Qawa Crossing, commonly referred to as Baubale Crossing, located in Bulileka, Labasa. This closure is effective immediately and will remain until further notice.
Motorists are advised to adapt their travel schedules as warning and advisory signs have been put in place to alert drivers of the situation. To mitigate disruptions, FRA crews are actively constructing a temporary bypass downstream from the current crossing, allowing public access to continue.
The completion of the bypass is anticipated by midday tomorrow, December 2, 2025.
