Remembrance Day Tribute to Fiji Police Officer with the Longest Name

Labasa Remembrance Day Honors Fiji Police Constable with the Longest Name in the Force

A heartfelt ceremony was held on Remembrance Day at the Labasa Police Station, where the Fiji Police Force paid tribute to Constable Elenoa Gataialupe Penidigitakikinaqitokipapuaniukini, noted for having the longest name in the force. This gathering came as a poignant moment for the community as they remembered Elenoa, who was laid to rest earlier this year in her native village of Tubou on Lakeba in Lau. Her family, including her sister, participated in the ceremony by placing a wreath at the memorial dedicated to officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Constable Elenoa started her journey with the Fiji Police Force on April 27, 2009, serving in various capacities at stations including Lakeba and Nabua, before concluding her career at the National Police Command and Coordination Centre and the Totogo Police Station. Her commitment to service was highlighted during the event, which was presided over by Acting Deputy Police Commissioner Aporosa Lutunauga. He spoke about the significance of honoring dedicated officers like Constable Elenoa, reinforcing the police’s commitment to commemorating the sacrifices made by their members.

This particular remembrance coincides with the Fiji Police Force’s preparations for its upcoming 150th Anniversary celebration, scheduled for October 10, 2024. The dedication shown by officers such as Elenoa and their families exemplifies the unwavering commitment that drives the force’s mission.

The tribute not only reflects the strength and resilience of the Fiji Police Force but also underscores the enduring spirit of service and community commitment. Ceremonies like these ensure that the legacies of past officers continue to inspire future generations, fostering a culture of respect and remembrance within the community.
