Vipin Chandra, Director of Labasa Janta Store, stated that saree sales have seen a remarkable increase this year. “This time, Diwali is very promising. It’s been very busy for the past two weeks. The arrival of new stock has created a lot of attraction—people are coming here to buy sarees for Diwali,” he noted.
Chandra showcased the colorful and diverse range of sarees available, blending modern styles with traditional designs, consistently drawing a steady stream of shoppers. Similarly, Astika Ram, another local business owner, reflected on the positive trends this festive season. “This year, Diwali is great for us. Compared to last year, this Diwali is better. We have a wider range of sarees, jewellery, lehenga suits, and other outfits, and more people are coming in to shop,” Ram added.
With Diwali celebrations slated for next Tuesday, retailers in Labasa remain optimistic about the continued sales momentum.
