On June 10, the situation escalated further as the Pentagon sent 700 Marines to protect federal agents and facilities amid the ongoing unrest.

In light of the tensions, some businesses have temporarily closed their doors. Mermaid bar, along with other establishments in Downtown LA, made the decision to pause operations on June 9 due to safety concerns stemming from ICE roundups and nearby protests.
