Kyle Chrisley, son of reality TV star Todd Chrisley, was arrested in Tennessee on Saturday night, facing multiple charges including domestic assault, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. Law enforcement officials took him into custody around 7 p.m. and he was subsequently booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, as reported by TMZ.
In addition to the main charges, Kyle, 34, was also charged with resisting arrest and reportedly assaulted a first responder during the incident. He faces three additional charges related to allegations of retaliation for past actions.
Kyle Chrisley has a known history with law enforcement, having been previously arrested for drug possession in May 2019 in Oklahoma. At that time, he had a warrant out for his arrest due to alleged death threats made against his former partner, although those charges were eventually dropped when the victim did not cooperate with the investigation.
In a troubling past incident in September 2019, Kyle discussed his struggles with mental health on the “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, revealing an attempt to take his own life following an adverse reaction to medication. He emphasized that the combination of medications led to extreme and irrational thoughts.
More recently, in March 2023, Kyle faced charges for aggravated assault after reportedly brandishing a knife during a dispute with his employer. His wife, Ashleigh Chrisley, defended him, stating that while Kyle carries a knife for work, he did not use it during the altercation, which she described as initially a verbal disagreement that escalated.
Todd Chrisley has publicly acknowledged his son’s battles with bipolar disorder, expressing concern for Kyle’s ongoing struggles. The situation highlights the complexities surrounding mental health issues and their impact on individuals and their families. As Kyle navigates these challenges, many hope for his recovery and a brighter path ahead.
