KT Rolster maintained their impressive unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory over Gen.G Esports in the semifinals of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, held on Saturday in Shanghai. This win means KT Rolster will advance to the grand final, where they will face either T1 or Top Esports, the finalists from the other semifinal match scheduled for Sunday.

The championship, boasting a remarkable prize pool of $5 million, has seen KT Rolster thrive throughout the tournament. They finished the Swiss Stage with a perfect 3-0 record and decisively defeated CTBC Flying Oyster in the quarterfinals. However, their semifinal showdown with Gen.G Esports proved to be a hard-fought battle.

KT Rolster kicked off the match with a solid 47-minute victory while playing as Team Red. Gen.G responded with determination, evening the series with a 39-minute win as Team Blue. Nonetheless, KT Rolster showcased their resilience by securing two back-to-back victories, first winning in 29 minutes as Team Blue and then clinching the match with a 35-minute victory as Team Red, effectively eliminating Gen.G Esports, who will take home $400,000 for their efforts.

The KT Rolster lineup includes standout players such as Bo-sung “Bdd” Gwak, who was named match MVP, alongside teammates Seung-min “PerfecT” Lee, U-chan “Cuzz” Mun, Dae-gil “deokdam” Seo, and Yoon-su “Peter” Jeong.

The ongoing World Championship began in Beijing on October 14, showcasing 17 teams. The competition progressed to the Knockout Stage in Shanghai, where eight teams entered into a single-elimination bracket composed of best-of-five matches.
