KSI Slams Tate Appointment as Misfits Boxing CEO, Sparks Backlash

KSI has strongly criticized the recent appointment of Andrew Tate as CEO of Misfits Boxing, labeling it “the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” Tate, a controversial figure known for his polarizing views and multiple legal issues, has taken the reins of the London-based sports company, a move that has sparked outrage among some in the boxing community.

In response to KSI’s comments, a spokesperson for Tate dismissed the remarks as a “predictable tantrum,” suggesting that the backlash was expected given Tate’s contentious public persona. KSI, who is also known as Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji Jr., previously served as the CEO of Misfits Boxing, a company he launched in 2021. Under his leadership, KSI participated in five fights and has a significant following as an influencer, professional boxer, and musician.

The controversy escalated when KSI took to social media platform X to share his disbelief over Tate’s appointment. He posted a series of tweets expressing his frustration, including an emphatic “WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS GOING ON?” followed by “ANDREW TATE THE CEO OF MISFITS?!? ARE YOU F****** SERIOUS?!?” His reaction reflects not only personal discontent but also a broader concern regarding the direction of the promotion.

Aiming to clarify the transition, a spokesperson for Tate emphasized that the change was not a hostile takeover but rather a strategic move meant to leverage Tate’s extensive influence to elevate Misfits Boxing on the world stage. This has raised questions about KSI’s future role within the organization, particularly as Tate alluded to a shift in management dynamics.

In a recent video, Tate welcomed viewers to a new era for Misfits, stating, “it wasn’t a hostile takeover but it was certainly planned,” indicating a collaborative effort with current management, including Mams Taylor, the co-president of Misfits. However, KSI’s frustration hints at potential lingering tensions between the two figures.

As the boxing landscape continues to evolve with these developments, Tate is also set to face TV personality Chase DeMoor in a match scheduled for December 20 in Dubai. This event, along with the ongoing legal troubles Tate faces—four criminal investigations and two civil matters—sets the stage for a dynamic and challenging period ahead for both Tate and Misfits Boxing.

The unfolding drama signals a significant shift in the boxing promotion, and many fans are left wondering how this will impact both the athletes involved and the future of Misfits Boxing as a whole.
