The Fiji Cancer Society is set to enhance its outreach and support services with a newly donated vehicle from Kontiki Finance, aimed at improving access for cancer patients in remote and underserved communities across Fiji. This donation highlights Kontiki Finance’s ongoing commitment to community wellbeing, particularly in assisting individuals who face barriers to receiving care.

This vehicle marks the sixth donation from Kontiki Finance since the partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society began in 2018, showcasing a sustained effort to provide practical solutions rather than just financial aid. The vehicle will facilitate essential outreach programs, allowing staff and volunteers to travel to rural areas to deliver cancer screenings, counselling, and awareness initiatives. This is crucial for ensuring that patients are not denied care due to challenges related to distance or financial constraints.

During the vehicle’s handover, Leeanne Dalton, the Group Human Resources Manager for Kontiki Finance, emphasized the importance of meaningful support that extends beyond monetary contributions. By helping to alleviate some of the logistical burdens faced by families affected by cancer, the company aims to create a more supportive environment for patients.

Belinda Chan, CEO of the Fiji Cancer Society, expressed her gratitude for Kontiki Finance’s support, noting that the donation will significantly increase the organization’s capacity to reach those in need. This new resource is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing patient transportation, expanding outreach activities, and conducting crucial cancer screenings and programs, particularly in the Western Division, ensuring that vital services are accessible to all Fijians.

The collaboration between Kontiki Finance and the Fiji Cancer Society exemplifies how community partnerships can foster positive change and deliver essential services to those who need them most.
