The training session for the rugby team featured various set plays as the extended squad put significant effort into honing their skills. Coach Kolinisau is focused on finalizing the best twelve players to compete in the upcoming Singapore 7s tournament, scheduled for January 31 to February 1.
Kolinisau noted that the team resumed training after a break for Christmas and New Year, highlighting the importance of consistency as they prepare for the competition. He reflected on their performance in the initial legs of the series in Dubai and Cape Town, expressing disappointment in their results but maintaining an optimistic outlook.
“We finished the year tied at the top with South Africa and New Zealand, which positions us well,” Kolinisau stated. “Our goal is to win the series this year, and we have been working hard during training to achieve that.”
This determination and depth of preparation illustrate the team’s commitment to improving and competing at a high level. As they gear up for the Singapore 7s, the focus remains on refining their strategies and building a consistent performance on the field. It’s an exciting time for the squad, who will aim to capitalize on their past experiences to make a strong showing in the upcoming tournament.
