Brooks Koepka has officially requested reinstatement to the PGA Tour after spending three and a half years competing with LIV Golf. The PGA Tour confirmed this development, noting that Koepka left LIV Golf in December, even with a year left on his contract with the controversial Saudi-backed league. This news was initially shared by ESPN.com.

In a statement released in December, LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil mentioned that Koepka and the league had come to an “amicable and mutual” agreement regarding his departure from the organization. As Koepka, 35, looks to return to the PGA Tour, the process and requirements for reinstatement remain unclear. Notably, Hudson Swafford, another player who transitioned to LIV Golf, applied for reinstatement late last year and was informed that he would not be eligible for any Tour-sanctioned events until 2027 due to policy violations from participating in non-sanctioned events.

Despite his current situation, Koepka retains the ability to participate in all four major tournaments through 2028, thanks to his victory in the 2023 PGA Championship. Additionally, he is eligible to compete on the DP World Tour, where his professional career commenced, although he may face potential fines for his previous involvement with LIV Golf.

This potential return to the PGA Tour marks a significant moment in Koepka’s career, as the golf world watches to see how this unfolds and what it may mean for the evolving landscape of professional golf.
