Kody Brown is determined to make a mark on the reality competition show Special Forces, but his approach could be causing tension with his teammates, Gia Giudice and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. An exclusive clip from Us Weekly reveals a moment from the Thursday, October 23 episode where Kody, 56, appears to prioritize his own strategy over teamwork. In a challenging scenario requiring collaboration, while Gia urges him to “slow down,” Kody opts to lead the way without heeding their frustrations.

“I have been known for my intense personality,” Kody admits in the sneak peek. “I am the loud, obnoxious type and not the strong, silent type.” This self-awareness, however, isn’t translating into effective team dynamics, as both Gia and Brianna continue to assert the importance of staying “calm and collected” during the challenge. Kody’s previous interactions with his fellow recruits throughout this season hint that collaboration might not be his strong suit.

Kody’s commitment to Special Forces is commendable, given the significant physical and psychological demands of the show, which mirrors the intense training of actual special forces units. The competition, which debuted in 2023, showcases contestants tackling harsh challenges designed to test every limit. Besides Kody, the season also features an eclectic mix of participants, including Teresa Giudice, Jussie Smollett, and several notable athletes and personalities.

In a recent interview, Kody shared some of the harsh realities he faced while filming. He recounted an incident where he struggled with physical exertion, recalling a moment he was unable to navigate monkey bars due to exhaustion. “There was one time when my muscles gave out,” he revealed, highlighting the toll the competition takes on contestants. Kody expressed both the physical strain and the psychological games involved, including feigning fatigue to prevent his instructors from pushing him further.

Despite these challenges, Kody finds solace in the support of his wife, Robyn Brown. He reflected on their conversation about his participation, noting, “She says, ‘I know you’re going to do it. There’s no way I can stop you.’” Kody acknowledged that joining the competition might seem reckless but emphasized the fulfilling challenge it represented at this stage of his life, calling it “marvelous” and even “spiritual.”

As Kody navigates this grueling journey on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which airs on Fox Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET, viewers will be keen to see if he can harness his intense nature for the benefit of his team and rise to meet this monumental challenge.
