New York Knicks forward Josh Hart left the court on Christmas Day during a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to an ankle injury. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter when Hart, while driving towards the basket, inadvertently stepped on the foot of Cavaliers forward Dean Wade.

Before his exit, Hart had made a notable contribution to the team, scoring 15 points and securing five rebounds. The game saw the Knicks initially struggle, falling behind 18-3 in the early moments. However, they rallied and managed to take the lead at one point, showcasing their resilience. Despite this effort, the Cavaliers responded and reclaimed control in the third quarter, extending their lead further.

Knicks head coach Mike Brown praised Hart’s all-around game, emphasizing that he excels in multiple areas and plays a vital role in the team’s cohesion, whether starting or coming off the bench. “He does a couple of things at an elite level, and when you have a guy like that who’s pretty selfless, it can bode well to connecting the group,” Brown stated.

Mikal Bridges also highlighted Hart’s impactful style of play, describing him as one of the fastest players with the ball who thrives in transition, capable of driving to the rim and creating opportunities for teammates. Since Hart joined the starting lineup on November 24, the Knicks have posted an impressive 10-3 record, attributing much of their success to his energetic contribution.

As the game progressed without Hart, the Knicks faced an uphill battle to secure a Christmas victory at Madison Square Garden. However, if they channel the same energy and determination that Hart brings, they still have a chance to pull off the comeback and delight their fans during the holiday season.
