Recently, Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report identified Los Angeles Clippers point guard Kris Dunn as a “realistic” trade target. Bailey noted that Dunn could bring a much-needed veteran presence and defensive skills to the Knicks’ bench. Given Dunn’s limited playing time with the Clippers, it’s plausible that he could be available for trade, particularly if the Knicks offer a prospect like Pacôme Dadiet.
The Knicks’ current depth chart at point guard took a hit with Malcolm Brogdon’s sudden retirement, which thrust second-year playmaker Tyler Kolek into a more significant role. While Kolek has shown flashes of potential in his first three games, his lack of experience has raised concerns about his readiness to take on such responsibilities. Bringing in Dunn would not only allow Kolek to develop further from the sidelines but also provide the Knicks with a reliable option behind star player Jalen Brunson.
