Dennis Schröder, a veteran point guard, has reached an agreement with the Sacramento Kings, according to league sources. While the specifics of the contract are still undisclosed, this marks Schröder’s 10th team in his career, indicating his notable journey in the NBA.
The addition of Schröder is expected to provide the Kings with a crucial lead ballhandler as they enter the free agency period. Prior to this signing, the Kings had only young point guard Devin Carter on their roster, who had limited playing time during his rookie season in 2024-25.
The Kings finished with a record of 40-42 last season and made significant changes to their roster, including trading away All-Star point guard De’Aaron Fox and bringing in two-time All-Star Zach LaVine. Additionally, the franchise switched coaches, promoting Doug Christie to head coach after parting ways with Mike Brown.
In the previous season, Schröder displayed his versatility by averaging 13.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while playing for three different teams.
