Draunivi 220m Road Upgrade in Ra Promises Safer Fiji Commutes

Kings Road Upgrades Underway in Ra, Boosting Travel Safety

Roadworks are underway in the Draunivi area of Ra as part of the “Rip and Remake” and “Maintenance Programs” aimed at improving accessibility and travel conditions along Kings Road. This significant project involves the upgrade of 220 meters of road, which will enhance safety and ensure a smoother travel experience for both residents and daily commuters.

The Ministry of Public Works, in conjunction with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), is implementing these crucial infrastructure improvements. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance Fiji’s transportation network, reflecting similar projects currently in progress on Rewa Street and McGregor Road, which also focus on improving road conditions throughout the country.

Authorities are advising motorists who utilize these routes to exercise caution and follow all traffic signals and instructions from traffic controllers. Although there may be temporary inconveniences due to the construction, the long-term advantages of such infrastructure enhancements will lead to safer and more efficient travel for everyone.

These ongoing improvements highlight the government’s dedication to establishing a robust transport infrastructure, which is essential for bolstering economic activities and strengthening community connectivity. As the projects advance, the cooperation of the community will be vital to their success, fostering optimism for a more resilient transportation framework across Fiji.
