Killeen ISD Announces Leadership Transition at Ira Cross Elementary

KILLEEN, Texas – Killeen Independent School District (KISD) Superintendent Dr. King Davis has announced the resignation of Ira Cross Elementary Principal Stephanie Ford due to personal reasons. In an update shared with families, Davis explained that district leaders are actively searching for a new principal and will provide further details once the selection process concludes.

To ensure a smooth transition during this change, the district has designated an interim leadership team. Tomas Sias will return to the campus, joined by Assistant Principal Jessica Askew, and they will collaborate closely with Dr. Keonna White, the Executive Director of Schools, to manage daily operations and support the school community.

Davis expressed confidence in the interim team’s ability to maintain stability, stating, “Their vast experience with Ira Cross and their commitment to students and staff make this a positive and stabilizing step for the campus.”

Parents and guardians with questions during this period are encouraged to reach out to Dr. White via email at Keonna.White@killeenisd.org. Davis reaffirmed the district’s dedication to supporting the success of every student and staff member during this transition.

This leadership change comes at a time that underscores the importance of community engagement and vested interest in the well-being of students and educational staff alike.
