Virginia State Police have officially lifted the AMBER Alert for three children who were abducted from Fishersville, Virginia, after an arrest was made in connection with their kidnapping. Shanice Davison, a 35-year-old woman from Evergreen, Alabama, has been taken into custody by the Alabama Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service in Birmingham, following a brief pursuit on Interstate 495.

Davison was arrested without incident, and importantly, all three children — Jai’Marcus Lewis, 10, Ja’Miyah Lewis, 8, and Ja’Liyah Lewis, 6 — were found safe and unharmed. Authorities determined that Davison, their estranged biological mother, was responsible for their disappearance and was believed to have been traveling with the children back to Alabama.

The initial investigation revealed that the children’s safety was a primary concern, with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office confirming Davison is facing multiple felony abduction charges. According to the report, the situation escalated when the children were reportedly taken from the bus stop by Davison in a black four-door vehicle, identified as a newer model Nissan Sentra.

Sheriff Donald Smith of Augusta County emphasized the ongoing efforts to ensure the children’s swift and safe reunification with their legal guardians.

In summary, this incident has a positive outcome with the children being found unharmed and the suspect in custody. This reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies to work tirelessly to protect the welfare of children and reunite them with their families.

It’s a reminder that while dangerous situations may occur, collaborative efforts among various law enforcement organizations can lead to positive resolutions.
