The International Organization for Migration (IOM) recently concluded a three-day “Kida B4 U Click” Training of Trainers Workshop, held at the Lagoon Resort in Deuba, Fiji, on September 19, 2025. This workshop was designed to provide essential tools to law enforcement officers and community representatives, targeting the pressing issues of cybercrime and human trafficking.
The event was lauded by IOM Project Coordinator, Ms. Sera Raisulu, who highlighted the dedication of participants and the importance of continuous professional growth and shared learning. In collaboration with the Fiji Police Force, the initiative demonstrated a concerted effort to address these global challenges.
A key aspect of the workshop was its practical engagement with local communities. On the final day, participants visited Ratu Latinara College and Korovisilou Village to promote online safety and raise awareness about human trafficking risks, thereby extending the workshop’s impact beyond theoretical training.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Salanieta Radaniva, expressed her gratitude to the IOM and participants, including those from Homes of Hope, for their contributions. She stressed the necessity of addressing modern human-induced security challenges and encouraged attendees to apply their new insights to foster positive community impacts.
This workshop aligns with broader regional initiatives like the Cyber Safety Pasifika program, focusing on enhancing the capacity of Pacific law enforcement against cyber threats. Such programs underline the importance of digital literacy, awareness, and community-oriented policing strategies in tackling contemporary security issues.
The “Kida B4 U Click” workshop represents a proactive approach towards securing safer online environments and increasing trafficking awareness. By empowering local law enforcement and community leaders with necessary skills, these initiatives significantly contribute to creating a more secure Pacific region.
Through collaborative efforts such as these, there’s optimism for enhanced community safety and effective protection against cybercrime and human trafficking, symbolizing a unified commitment across regions to build safer and more resilient communities.
