Opened on May 5, the restaurant transforms the former Joe Muer Seafood into a space that Rock describes as a blend of Detroit grit and Nashville swagger.
In a bold promotional move, Rock declared, “I couldn’t care less what you think about my new restaurant,” implying that The Detroit Cowboy is a venue for like-minded individuals who appreciate his unapologetic style and views. He further emphasized his disregard for critics in a statement filled with signature bravado, stating, “I know how to hang pictures, create a vibe, and make things fun! … all while still holding two middle fingers up high for the haters!”
The Detroit Cowboy aims to create a distinct dining experience that reflects Rock’s personality and his controversial yet charismatic public persona.
